if you have been reading martys and jims blogs you would have seen posts dedicated to video games and now im going to give my top 5.it wont be as detailed, i dont think because im lazy and got shit all sleep last night(because of video games, fucking irony) and origanally i was thinking of doing a top 5 charaters or boss fights or you know something a little bit different like that,but creativity isn't my thing.

i have one issue i must attend to first.that is the reputation(still not sure if thats the right word to use) of video games.gaming seems to get belittled a lot and i can't understand why.movies are considered a fairly big part of culture and how many people do you no that dont watch movies?video games are kind of like interactive movies, in fact thats exactly what they are.so why then do people give video games such a negative wrap?theres nothing that shits me more(except for communism) than a person belives that the stuff there intrested in, is better and/or more important than stuff there not intrested in.im not saying a person has to be intrested or involved in a part of culture they dont like, but i think they should appreciate the fact that other people like these things.i firmly beleive video games have been an important part in my life and i dont think im the only one.For teenage guys in particulary i think its an effective socializing tool, i meen, i think about our "lads nights" and i think without video games they would be very different and maybe even non-existant.when im playing video games with friends we rarely just sit there in complete silence button mashing away.i think these days people who play games are excepted though.the industry is huge and most guys i no own atleast one console, and you see a lot of 20-25 year old people in eb and various stores like that, so i dont think we need to worry about that.

anyway no more seriousness this post was meent to be fun and i've ruined by getting worked up over my opinions so here is my top 5.note: its in no particular order or rank because choosing the 5 was hard enough, it like asking a parant to choose which child is their favourate.

1.timesplitters 1,2(the best) and 3

why?best first person shooter on ps2 in my opionion and if you want to argue it, i'll see you in the carpark kent.it has the MOST(over 100) bizzare charaters including chinese chef(jims fav),the shoal,hans,monkey,duckman drake,gingerbread man,my good friend calamari and fuckloads more.Also it has so much sentimental value to me, me alan spent hours on timespliters 2 co-op and we managed to get all the way to robot factory on hard which was very hard to do and took a lot of teamwork,knowledge and a very good plan to achieve.also its been one of the most played games of lads night and me and jim have had many tight games with both of us on equal first with one kill left, which is an intense feeling, your just praying that you turn around the corner and see calamris big head to rip some bullets into.there was one game that has stuck in my memory that consisted of me,marty and jimmy were all on one kill to win, uber intense!i think marty came out the victor but my memory is blurred.the weapons are also very unique rangeing from the more conventianal machine guns,pistols and snipers to the more whacky, bricks(yes,literally a brick),monkey gun and DD's favioute, the electro tool, although i can't say i have much love for it.rumour has it theres a 4th in the series coming to the xbox 360 and ps3 which is a big selling point for me to deciede between the ps3 and wii (ps3 has offically won)

2.square's rpgs
so yeah this is probably cheating, but fuck off, theres just so many awsome games to cover.dragon quest,star ocean,kingdom hearts,chrono trigger and ofcoarse, final fantasy are the ones im most intrested in, theres heaps more ofcoarse.kingdom hearts was fucking great, i've finished both the ps2 games and as i type chain of memories is downloading away.both had incredable intro movies and i find myself watching them several times at random intervalls throughout my life and the ending in number 2?fucking brilliant!its to bad they didnt end the series there, because that was the perfect way to go out, i dont want to give anything away so look away now if you dont want to no what happens *spoiler warning* but when sora is reading kairi's letter and then when both sora and riku return to destiny island, wow what a moment and so rewardng after playing through both games and it was just such a good sentimental moment. theres also the hole speech, kinda, thing which is well a bit cheesy but i like it none the less, "Thinking of you wherever you are We pray for our sorrows to end and hope that our hearts will blend Now I will step forward to realise that wish And who knows? Maybe starting a new journey may not be so difficult after all or maybe it has already begun. There are many worlds but they share the same sky, one sky, one destiny"im sure it has some sort of deeper meaning or message to it, but i just like to think of it in the kingdom hearts context, rather than complicating it.moving on to the final fantasy series now and i could go on forever or i could just say head to martys blog ( http://www.mushroomhunting101.blogspot.com/ ) and check out what he wrote because it somes up the series pretty nicely.i would like to add howver my top 5 ffs, yes a top 5 within a top 5!exciting no?anyway here they are in order of rank according to me
1.ff10-blitizball,sin,kihamari,great summon(animas my bitch) and some incredibly hard secret bosses and sidequests.
2.ff7-best rpg on the ps,chocobo racing,all charaters were awsome(except yuffie) and sephiroth is by far the coolest uber enemy in a ff game.
3.ff6-classic rpg,challangeing,shitloads of summons and a great magic system.
4.ff12-new gameplay,gorgeous graphics and lots of extras but unfoutunatly ruined with a crap story and shit,awkward characters.
5.ffx-2-heres were they all were pretty even but i gave it to ffx-2 because it was a follow on to ffX and had good reply value.
dragon quest has been my best purchase of 07 and its just old school rpging at its best.and lastly i currently have a massive chrono trigger addiciton and thats why im so sleep deprived, ive just gotten stuck though, but ill soon figure it out.

3.goldeneye/perfect dark

this ws a hard choice it could have to to mario kart or banjo kazzoie but i deciede to stick with these classic first person shooters.goldeneye filled up many of my primary school days and back in the day i was a pro at the multiplayer, however my mad skills have fucked off and im pretty crap now (or noob if you want to get fancy).perfect dark was another of my fine 2007 buys and its multiplayer is just fucking great even when you compare it to more recent fps which i beleive lack a certain quality that these two are loaded with.i just want to acknowledge diddykong racing,smash bros(original),yoshi story,lylat wars, mario 6 and conkers bad fur day, for they were all my excellent childhood games.

4.dark chronicle

Still havnt finished this game!!!and i've had it since year 7(it aint easy and its taken me 100+ hours).but its defiently one of the better rpgs ive ever played.the level up system is so unique, you dont level up yours players level instead you level up your weapons which is really effective and enjoyable.theres also so much extra crap and the most enjoyable mini games which include spheda(golf for all those scotish out there),fishing which is really, REALLY good there tonnes of fish to catch and you have to breed them to get certain species and also you can battle them or race them, ah its just so good and theres this photo system aswell, it really just doesnt end.the dungeons are long and you could say they are repetive which is true but there still fun.also i dont wanna give much away but the guy whos causing all these problems, using timetravel(yes!they travel through time aswell)is, wait for it......A RABBIT!!!how original!theres also a feature which allows you to build a town and certain criteria has to be meet to "restore the future" or some shit like that.writing this made me realise how much i miss this game and i think after this im gana head off and start a new game on it(YES!im going to go through all 100 hours again!thats how good it is)

5.metal gear solid.

i flipped a coin to deciede between mgs and devil may cry for this position and i must say mgs was the just outcome(devil may cry is still great aswell).jimmy gave some insight to the 2nd one so check that out alrite, its late and i cant be fucked anymore!basically i will say the final fight in the snake eater was one of the best boss fights ever and it was mainly just the setting and story that did it justice, the actual fight was good but there were better fights in that game.taking pictures of snakes groin is fun and nothing beats running around in a box.the story line in snake eater was awsome, as was the story in number 2, but anyone who finished will know how much the end fucked with your head.

quickly i want to say silent hill,shadow of the collusus,ratchet+clank,resident evil 4, animal crossing and much more all deserved a place in there but i either couldnt fit them in or i thought jim and marty covered them really well and i felt like nothing more needed to be added.

so thats its, i just have one last matter to attend to.i know this post is lagging on, but it hasnt been easy to right, ive had constent interuptions which resulted in four writing sessions each consisted of 20 minutes so that made the process slow and irratating and ive had this one fly trying to eat me for the past half hour so im starting to get quite angry(is it just me or do flies make life not worth living?).anyway back on topic, marty's turning 18!!!although thats in a just under a weeks time his birthday festivities are this thursday and i doubt i will be posting before then espeically considering how much i didnt enjoy this post for reasons mentioned above, its feels appropriate to give the b-day shout out now so HAPPY 18TH MARTY, its been 5 years since we first meet, creepy when i think about it so much has changed (we shave now!) and the time has gone so quickly, i really enjoy watching people i regard as friends turn 18 it makes me proud and makes me reflect on times gone by.anyway i know you'll enjoy the celebrations and congrats on reaching manhood, much love.

Is it just me or is coming up with a title the hardest thing when it comes to posting?bitter sweet symphony-verve is the song i stole those lyrics from.the song came up in conversation today and now i cant get it out of my head, fuck i hate that.

whats with this weather hey?Monday and Tuesday was beautiful Australian summer weather and then i wake up Wednesday, its like 10 degrees and i had to put my shirt on in the first time in days. I no technically its not summer yet but i want to get as many hot sunny days crammed into my summer holidays as possible.

anyway on a relatively serious note i wanna talk about this election.first of all LIBERAL ALL THE WAY,Johny Howard is doing a good enough job if you ask me, putting aside the whole Iraq war, but please don't be naive, it is very important to suck up to America.Having America as an Alli makes people think twice before attacking Australia.Also there is the workplace agreements which, well, i don't no if its just labour trying to give the liberals a bad reputation or if its a serious problem because you see all the adds, but i dont no of one person ive heard of that it's affetced.however, i no that Kevin "the little bitch" Rudd will win, why?because the Australia voting population either don't care or are just plain stupid and as a result they don't no shit about politics.i understand politics is boring believe me! i had to study it in legal studies, but i think its important to understand how your country is governed.anyway getting back to my main point Kevin Rudd will win because the public will vote for which ever side the medias on(being Kevin Rudd this year in my opinion) which is fair enough considering that its the only political exposure people get politics in their day to day lives.i just wish we had more time in our lives so that everyone could take a step back and learn all these important(my opinion!i stress that) life lessons.alternatively you could vote for the democrats,greens or an independant party but that would be a waste of a vote.

yeah so moving on to the weeks events.Monday was a trip to lan involving me,Fitton,Eirc,DD and Michael.was pretty good, except for Michael's bullshit,suiciding,arab hero, techies which are now my most hated hero.still haven't made any progress with my dota skills but I've found out some reason why i suck so bad (like not paying attention the the mini map and not using hot keys) so (HOPEFULLY) ill get better, no promises thought to those who i dota it up with.Tuesday i had to go to the school to do my subject interview which was right in the middle of the day so it consumed all Tuesday, but i got all my subjects, being (in order of blocks) free,chemistry,legal studies,further maths,history and English.if anyone has any the same then if you can leave me a comment and let me no that i would be oh so grateful because i want to no how my classes are looking for next year.Wednesday was a nothing fuck around day in which i played heaps of Crono trigger and now i have a severe addiction to it.its just so fucking good, old school rpgs have such a different feel to them than more recent ones, its refreshing.while i'm on the topic of video games, I'm trying to decide between the Wii and the PS3 if anyone can think of something to help make up my mind about the 2 then hit me with it, cause I'm full of indecision.that brings us to today, which consisted of a trip to the city with Fitton and dd, it was a shame we couldn't get more people but it wasn't well organised because Fitton gave me organising duties at the last minute as usual.however, it was still pretty good, we got pasta at big like usual except i tried the gnocchi there and it was great then looked around at the usual shops but we spent most of the day sitting round socialising, bagging each other and planning events for the upcoming days.so not the most eventful week but i found it very enjoyable.

In an attempt to get blogs back to the glorious state they were once in I've decided to begin posting again and have been annoying people to post again or start a new blog.however i cant use my old blog because i forgot the password and besides i like this one more because of several reasons
1) the title and address are spelt properly (my old blog is spelt mosses and i don't think that word exists)
2)this blogs template isn't hot pink which is an offense to my incredible amount of masculinity.
3)no one has advertised porn or their home made pies on hear yet.
4)my display was of the gorgeous delta and so as a result creepy guys were after a fuck off me.

anyway new topic, schools fucking out!!!its such a fucking good feeling when you clean out your locker take the lock off and look at the empty space thinking how its over for another year and how awesome the summers gonna be.the only thing that beat that feeling was toasting with dd,Stu and max with some beautiful bourbon.Exams were fucking annoying, the actual exam week is better than normal classes its just the study and build up that i hate, but fuck it, its done with now and i did kind of alright, here's my prediciton for my results English c-c+ (ms McMahon never gives me higher or lower than that, its because i don't agree with her bullshit,feminist UN-realistic opinions),biology 50-60% and considering i haven't tried since term 2 the exam was fucking easy, accounting i got done in half the time and i recon a 50% there(accounting is the worst subject),general maths was fucking easy I'd be shocked if i got less than 80% ,chemistry i have no idea how i went so I'm nervous about that one and legal i got back which was 61% very disappointing i did awesome first semester.

2 days of summer holidays have past and they have already been awesome.its started on Thursday night playing basket at the school, well actually we didn't play that much cos it was hot but we relaxingly shot hoops and talked about the worlds biggest muff(fitton brang that up),bitching about people we don't like and bagging each other.We were there from 6 till about 8:30 just chilling, such a good way to kick off the end of school festivities.the next day started with me waking up early to go do some clothes shopping at Eastland(do not go shopping there if your a guy there is jack all, stick to Knox its the best for clothes and most other things) then going home to eat lunch then leave straight away to met DD and head down to blackburn station to get a bus to Fittons house were we watched some stuff on Fittons PC then watched the cricket and listen to Fitton be an ass to his sister.then we made are way to Max's for an end of year piss up.we got this guy anrgy on the train by cos dd took a picture of him because he was such a cunt(wwearing taco bell hat and straunie t-shirt) that we couldnt resist haha it was so funny.we also had some randoms give us a drive by finger(that sounds dirty).but we eventually arrived at max's, its started off slow but once it picked up it was good.DD was abusing rob cos he wasn't drinking which was funny and i thought the Nazi were starting yet another world war because someone was letting off fireworks.Miki was shit faced and me and Callum were (pretend) fucking on the couch.we had a mix of agrum and vodka which was fucking strong as and by my standards that's saying something.then a girl turned up who lets just say acquaintance i met a couple of weeks ago which made things nice and awkward for but max's sister hide me and gave me the alias of "jack Johnson" after i claim i wasn't Shaun and that i was actually jack Nicholson and then Tess came and kept me company will i hide only problem was i was hiding in clear view.then the night ended and me Dave and Fitton headed home we missed the last train and had to walk home which was cool though.from Mitchem to Nunawading we talked about girls and that kinda stuff joking around about crap then at Nunawading we went to maccas to rest and eat big macs and then we headed home and we had a massive deep and meaningful conversation about family which was funny considering the rest of conversations that had took place through out the night.

then today i felt a bit average so the day consisted of watching Australia own in the cricket and the movie honey which is a good but got ruined by how "gangsta" they tried to make it but Jessica Alba is so hot in it and shes the only non "gangsta" character in it.then we got are computer back and its completely fixed which it great cause my computer was seriously messed up and thats how i got here.

anyway as my closing comment i wanna say keep posting and if you don't have a blog then make one because when need them back because they shit all over myspace,facebook and especially wow all of which i still dont see the appeal in and lastly check out the links to other peoples blogs at the start of my post.
